Feleipe Franks says Gators have several 'alpha dogs'

This week Florida coach Dan Mullen said the Gators are in search of alpha dogs in terms of leadership in the sense that players lead by example and vocally.

Mullen outlined several alpha dogs he’s coached earlier in his career, most notably former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott. Mullen then said he wasn’t sure if the team understood what it meant to be that kind of leader.

QB Feleipe Franks today said the team has their own way leading one another.

“I think we’ve got a bunch of guys that are alpha dogs, I don’t think you can narrow it down to just one,” Franks told reporters this week, including Zach Oliveri. “There’s different types of alpha dogs. There are people that talk, there are also people who do it with their actions, like maybe Josh (Hammond), not very talkative, but he shows you with his actions, he does everything right. But there’s more vocal guys like Freddie (Swain). Different people on the team have different types of leadership. You can be an alpha dog in different kind of ways.”
