UGA hires former Ole Miss HC Matt Luke as new offensive line coach

Following Sam Pittman’s decision to leave Georgia and take the Arkansas head coaching job, Kirby Smart had a huge hole to fill coaching his offensive line, both in development and recruiting, and Georgia hired former Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke to fill the vacancy.

Luke was fired as Ole Miss’ head coach following the Egg Bowl debacle. He compiled a 15-21 overall record as the head coach of the Rebels. Luke’s background and history is coaching offensive lines.

He played center for the Rebels from 1995-98, and he’s coached the offensive line at four different programs. Luke took over the interim head coaching job when Ole Miss and Hugh Freeze parted ways, and he became the permanent head coach following the 2017 season.
