On Sunday, Florida State announced the second-year Seminole coach had been fired by the school.

That news came after Florida State lost at home to Miami on Saturday 27-10. The Hurricanes came into that game with a 4-4 overall record. FSU opened this season with a loss to Boise State at home. FSU has yet to win a road game this season.

In his one-plus season at FSU, Taggart had a 9-12 overall record. Taggart led FSU to a 5-7 record last season and was 4-5 in Year 2 after losing to Miami. Taggart’s overall ACC record was 6-9.

Taggart finished his tenure at FSU with a 0-3 record against Miami and Florida.

Following this decision, FSU has named Odell Haggins as the interim coach of the program.
